Can heart burn cause burning sensation in my shoulder and by my collar bone?

Last night I had a really bad burning sensation in my chest, almost like pain, and in my right shoulder and by my collar bone...it was all on my right side, so I know that most likely it's not cardiac related. But, it made me feel really sick to my stomach, I couldn't sleep. I am 29 years old and the last cholesterol draw I had was 237 total chol. and also both my grandfathers had heart disease and my dad has it too, with severe plaquing of his arteries....I am on birth control and a smoker, and yes I am trying to quit....I have a quit date. So my question is does heart burn cause your shoulder to burn and collar bone, or do you think it could be cardiac related?
