Can small amount of astigmatism lead to headache?

Do you sometimes squint to try to bring objects into focus because this can be causing your headaches? I've heard that people with astigmatism sometimes experience frequent headaches. I have astigmatism real bad as well as my mother. I don't get headaches at all but my mom does quite frequently. Maybe you need a new prescription and your eyes are working too hard at the moment?
